Anna Fennen lives and works in her native Ostfriesland, on the North Sea coast. She has been passionate about painting since childhood. This enthusiasm was followed by numerous art seminars in Tuscany, Norden, Oldenburg and Leer, as well as private lessons with various artists.

The central message of her works is the experience of light, expanse, space and freedom. As different as the color in the paintings is, it is always in the service of the light that is captured in all of them. Her preferred motifs range from large-format abstract paintings and landscape motifs to large-format floral motifs, and her paintings have been shown in many exhibitions at home and abroad.

In 2011 she was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit for her social and artistic commitment, and a very special highlight was when the Aurich Castle placed abstract paintings by Anna Fennen alongside the old paintings of Prussian kings and ships. In March 2015, she was awarded the Euro Art Plaque in Gold by the European Circle of Culture.

She has also been a member of the Kulturring and Kunstkreis Rhauderfehn since 2010, find out more about Anna Fennen and her paintings and enjoy a tour of the gallery.
